OO Spotlight : Eric Pouncie

This month we celebrate Eric Pouncie in our Owner Operator driver spotlight. Eric has been driving for us for over a year and half. He lives in Downey, with his wife of almost six years and twin three-year-old boys. In fact, you might have seen his twin boys, because together they play the young son (Tucks) of the Dr. Miranda Bailey character on the TV show Grey’s Anatomy! Eric is quite ambitious. He just recently graduated from the University of Phoenix – Online Studies with a degree in Human Service Management, where many times he found that the solitude of his van, while waiting for Passengers, was actually the best place to study. “The Human Service Management degree is a degree that facilitates a whole lot of different directions in life, so I really haven’t decided which way I’ll take it. I do know that it taught me how to serve people, and how to deal with people from all kinds of walks of life, something that driving a Prime Time Shuttle does as well!” Eric is someone who likes flexibility, whether that be gaining a degree online, or driving as one of the Owners of Prime Time Shuttle. “I’ve been in transportation, in one way or another, since 1996,” Eric reflects. “First, I drove for Fed Ex for seven years, then a few in delivery in a bobtail truck. But this is so much better than driving boxes or freight around-I’m an extrovert, so I just love talking to people!” And people like Eric, we know, because we are always having our Passengers tell us how terrifically Eric does. “I also, quite frankly, don’t like to be micro managed. Once I know what the job is, I like to just be left alone to do it right,” he adds. “It makes me feel free, free like a bird,” he laughs, “My day is mine, if you know what I mean. I can take a break when I want to . . . it fits my entrepreneurial spirit-I can provide for my family, while being happy!”
